3 Of The World’s Fastest Cars

Devel Sixteen - 558.4 KPH (Claimed)

This phantom of the street has been in development in Dubai for more than ten years. It boasts a V-16 with 3,000 hp. Not powerful enough for you? There’s a 5,007 hp version of the Devel Sixteen available for upwards of $2.5 million. The “lesser” version will be street legal. The absolutely absurd powerhouse iteration? Not so much.

Note that the speed listed is based on manufacturer claims. It hasn’t yet been tested and verified.

SSC Tuatara - 455.2 KPH

There’s a story behind this one. In Oct 2020, SSC North America’s founder Jerod Shelby went to the Nevada desert for a run in his latest hypercar, averaging 508.7 kph. Critics were skeptical.

Fast forward to January 2021, and Shelby is at the Kennedy Space Center with all the equipment and external verifiers to definitively record an average run of 455.2 kph. Though not quite as high as his first run, still - not too shabby! This black-and-red speed demon is a real contender.

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport: 490.3 KPH

Perhaps it’s unsurprising, but at the current top of the world list is Bugatti. Back in 2019, pilot Any Wallace fired a customized, turbocharged Chiron Super Sport around the track at Ehra-Lessien. Modifications included 10 inch lengthening of the car’s body, giving it a new exhaust setup and a new rear aero kit. Saving the attempt from disaster were Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, their perfect structural integrity verified by x-ray before fitment. With Wallace in the driver’s seat, the Chiron Super Sport hit 490.3 KPH with impeccable style.

We look forward to when a new, truly tricked-out production car finally beats the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport’s blistering 2019 run!
