What To See and Do In Toronto This August

It’s difficult to believe that July has come and gone. That being said, you still an entire month of summer to take advantage of! 

There’s always something going on in Toronto, but summer is particularly exciting because there are so many festivals and events happening at the same time. 

Below are just some of the things you can experience this month: 

Luzia by Cirque du Soleil

July 28 – October 16

Experience a wondrous world that inspires you to explore your senses, enveloped in light and nurtured by rain. This critically acclaimed show draws inspiration from the beauty, colour and art of Mexico.


August 19 – September 5

Air shows, animals and unreal food combinations, The EX is a much-loved annual Toronto event. This carnival caters to the young and those that are young at heart. 


August 26 – August 28

 TAIWANfest is held in both Toronto and Vancouver, and is free for everyone. Each year, it explores some of the most remarkable generations of artists and ideas through food, activities and performances.

Breeders’ Stakes

August 21

The third and final leg of the Canadian Triple Crown takes place at Woodbine Racetrack on August 21. Place your bet and enjoy an afternoon of world-class horse racing! 

Toronto Cider Festival

August 27

The craft cider scene has truly flourished in Toronto, and the Toronto Cider Fest gives attendees the opportunity to try brews they’ve never seen before. Kick back and relax in a Muskoka chair while you enjoy over 30 different ciders from across Canada and around the world.
