There's a case to be made that luxury skin care products are indeed essential, especially when it comes to fortifying one's inner and outer glow. Here are a few skin care products for when money is no object
1. Givenchy Le Soin Noir Serum, $410 for 1 Oz.
This black anti-aging serum is a lava-like fluid that contains wrinkle-reducing black algae, as well as a faint iridescence that makes skin look brighter. (The colour disappears when you rub it on.)
2. La Prairie Cellular Cream Platinum Rare, $1,050 for 1.7 Oz.
This lilac-gray cream has a faint shimmer that made our skin look more even and highlighted (though too glittery in dim lighting). Peptides and antioxidants give the formula heft—and so does the jewel-shaped jar that weighs more than a pound.
3. Adore Cosmetics Golden Touch Facial Mask, $3,300
California-based Adore Cosmetics have created what may be the most extravagant sheet mask in the world. Retailing at $3,300, these masks use "the restorative power of pure gold" to renew and replenish skin.
4. Azature Black Diamond Nail Polish, $250,000 a bottle
With a quarter of a million dollars, you could buy a lot of things, a home, a fancy car or a college education for your kids But if you already have all these things and just can’t imagine what you’re going to do with that $250,000 in loose change you have lying around, then this uber-splurge item might just be for you. Jewellery couturier Azature — the self-described “Black Diamond King” — is now producing a one-of-a-kind bottle of diamond-infused nail polish, Fashionista reports. Containing 267 carats of black diamonds, this luxe lacquer will set buyers back a quarter of a million dollars.
5. H. Coutoure Beauty Mascara, $14M
If you had $14M of spare change lying around when H. Coutoure was still around (they’ve since gone under), you could have been the owner of a diamond-encrusted tube of mascara. Sure, it’s pretty, but it’s not that pretty.
